You can also listen to ARToday every Sunday at 08:00 - 09:00 UTC on radio frequencies: 17570 kHz AM or 17760 kHz AM, depending on the season; 7205 kHz AM and 7082 kHz SSB. Repeat broadcasts are every Monday at 17:30 - 18:30 UTC on a frequency of 4895 kHz AM - the transmitter power is 100 kW feeding an omni-directional antenna. The SARL is a founder member of the International Amateur Radio Union and as part of it's charter, the SARL is required to operate an emergency communications division which is charged with providing accurate and efficient communications in times of natural and other disasters, and when life or property is endangered.
This task has been delegated to HAMNET which is the SARL's emergency communications arm.
